MK Act: One Donation, Twice the Impact
YOUR DONATION TO MK-ACT COULD HAVE TWICE THE IMPACT THIS OCTOBER
October is Domestic Abuse Awareness Month, and local charity MK-ACT is asking Milton Keynes to get behind its vital work.
MK-ACT supports people across the city who are experiencing domestic abuse, offering crisis intervention, safety planning, specialist support, workshops and refuge accommodation.
The charity currently has around 30 staff and 25 volunteers, yet supports a city of roughly 300,000 people.
One of its most important services is its Refuge, which can accommodate up to 28 families who have fled abuse. Sadly, demand is so high that the Refuge is regularly full, and MK-ACT is working towards creating a second refuge to increase the number of safe spaces available.
The charity also supports people with areas including:
Housing
Legal support
Finances
Employment
Parenting
Resilience and confidence
Rebuilding life after abuse
MK-ACT also runs Fresh Start, a behavioural-change programme designed to address abusive behaviour and reduce the risk of future abuse.
The charity says that after receiving support:
92% of clients feel more in control of their lives
96% say MK-ACT helped them access support they would not otherwise have found
And this month, your donation could go even further.
From 6–13 October, MK-ACT is taking part in the Big Give Women and Girls Match Fund, meaning eligible donations made through the campaign can be matched, effectively doubling their impact at no extra cost to the donor.
For a local charity providing potentially life-changing and life-saving support, every donation matters.
If you can donate, share or simply help raise awareness this October, please support MK-ACT. ![]()
