Statement from Churches Together in Milton Keynes in Support of the Together Alliance March on 28 March 2026
As Churches Together in Milton Keynes, we affirm our shared commitment to the Gospel values of love, compassion, justice, and welcome. In recent months we have witnessed a rise in rhetoric and movements that seek to divide communities, spread fear, and exclude those who are different. Some of these voices have attempted to use Christian language and symbols to justify hostility toward migrants and vulnerable people. Such interpretations do not reflect the heart of the Christian faith.
The life and teaching of Jesus Christ call us to love our neighbour, welcome the stranger, and stand alongside those who are marginalised. The Church’s witness must always point toward reconciliation, dignity, and hope for all people. For this reason, Churches Together in Milton Keynes expresses its support for the Together Alliance demonstration taking place in London on Saturday 28 March. This peaceful and family-friendly gathering seeks to promote love, hope, and unity in the face of division and intolerance.
We are encouraged to see many Christian organisations and churches taking part in a visible Christian presence at the march, reminding our wider society that the Gospel is good news for everyone. Where Christian language has been misused to justify exclusion, it is important that followers of Christ speak clearly of the values of welcome, compassion, and justice that lie at the centre of our faith.
We invite our member churches to pray for all who will be participating in the march, and for our nation, that we may grow as a society marked by kindness, respect, and unity across our differences. May we continue, in Milton Keynes and beyond, to live out Christ’s call to love our neighbours and to seek the peace and flourishing of our communities.
