People’s Emergency Briefing film screening

On Sunday 13 September 2026, 75 people attended a screening of the People’s Emergency Briefing film for members of the faith communities in Milton Keynes at The Church of Christ the Cornerstone. It was jointly hosted by Churches Together in Milton Keynes, MK Eco Church Network and Interfaith MK.
The People’s Emergency Briefing Film is about the risks to British life from ongoing damage to nature and to our climate. It presents a clear, measured overview of how the climate and nature crisis is affecting everyday life in Britain – and what the evidence says about risks and responses. It was incredibly thought provoking. After watching the film, there was a time of discussion. The film is not available to watch online so we were encouraged to write to our MP to call for them to support a Parliamentary Call for a televised briefing to help bring the film to new audiences.

Revd George Mwaura, United Reformed Church Minister at Christ the Cornerstone, wrote a powerful response to watching the People’s Emergency Briefing film and his perspective as a Kenyan living in the UK provides a challenge for every Christian. George is also the current Chair of Churches Together in MK. Click here to read the article.
