Week of Prayer for Christian Unity 2026

Did you make it to one of the events that took place in the city and surrounding area during this year’s Week of Prayer for Christian Unity? Ecumenical services were held by Churches Together in Newport Pagnell and Woburn & District Churches Together. The Local Ecumenical Partnership in Walton walked from St Mary’s in Wavendon to All Saints in Milton Keynes Village via Christ the King in Kents Hill.

Churches Together in Milton Keynes held an ecumenical service using the Churches Together in Britain and Ireland material produced by Armenian churches which involved churches from the Baptist Union, the Church of England, the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, the United Reformed Church and the Roman Catholic Church amongst others (see photo above). Our preacher was Doral Hayes, the Principal Officer for Ecumenical Development and Relations at Churches Together in England who preached an inspiring sermon and encouraged local churches to seek greater unity. Thank you to St James Ecumenical Church for hosting us and to everyone who took part including the One Voice Ecumenical Choir.
