Its purpose is to bring church leaders and influencers together\, from across Milton Keynes and the surrounding area\, to catch up\, pray God’s restoration over one another\, and seek and pray for God’s restoration for our city. Whilst we pray that the work of RESTORE:MK bears fruit in relationships and greater cohesion across the churches in Milton Keynes\, its heart is always to facilitate and support\, rather than to own. \nRESTORE:MK Day of Prayers for our City – Thursday 19 March 2026 \nAs we see God moving in our churches and across our city\, we’re calling church leaders and influencers from across the city to dedicate a day to prayer together. From 9.30am to 3.30pm on Thursday 19 March\, we’ll gather at the Ridgeway Centre\, Wolverton to pray for our city. \nThe day will include times of prayer as a whole group\, as well as a choice of breakout sessions themed around different aspects and needs of our city. We’ll also ensure you are well fed with some delicious pastries\, fruit\, and drinks\, as well as a generous lunch. Scored for organ\, solo cello\, choir and soloists\, this dramatic and beautiful work is inspired by the Bach model. A tenor Evangelist recounts the Gospel story\, while other soloists take on the roles of Jesus and other characters in the drama. The choir is fully involved in the action\, but also offers moments of tender reflection and contemplation\, using a variety of supporting texts from Medieval times to the 20th century. To complete this fine and compelling Passion\, there are new and refreshing settings of familiar and much loved Passiontide hymns. Do join us if you can for what promises to be a very special evening. We include a motet by Adrian Boynton\, ‘Slow are the years of light’\, composed specially for Good Friday\, and beautiful Baroque solos for solo cello. SUMMARY:Revd Clive Fowle and 'In Spite of our Differences' Talk
DESCRIPTION:Clive Fowle is a Methodist minister who served in the Wolverton area between 1983 and 1989. During this time\, amongst other things\, he established the Milton Keynes – Leipzig church link because of his interest in working for reconciliation between East and West Europe. Since leaving Milton Keynes and whilst working in Birmingham and Rugby\, he became involved in work in the former Yugoslavia\, in supporting groups in the region\, mainly in Croatia\, who were working for reconciliation between people from the different religious and ethnic factions\, whose differences had pulled the country apart into a number of separate states.\n\nHe has recently written a book about his experiences of this work – ‘In Spite of our Differences – Healing the Hurts of War’. Through various workshops and visits between churches in the UK and the region\, he recounts the challenges he faced when he first got involved in this work of reconciliation\, and of the positive outcomes which have been achieved over time.\n\nClive will be speaking at the monthly meeting of Interfaith MK on Thursday 7th May\, 7.30pm at St George the Martyr Church\, Wolverton. The meeting is open to people of all faiths and none. \n\nThere is no charge for the meeting\, and it will be followed by refreshments and opportunities for further discussion with those present at the meeting.
